TMZ reporting that Michael Jackson has died.

We’ve just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon and paramedics were unable to revive him. We’re told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.

Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince “Blanket” Michael Jackson II.

Jackson had 13 number one hits during his solo career.

Story developing…

TMZ Report. Very sad if it’s true.

Update:  Report confirmed LA Times, CNN

I view Michael Jackson as someone who had a very twisted upbringing with no control over his life, then or ever.  Someone like that would live a very twisted life and it seems he has.

I feel very sad for his own children, for his fans, but don’t be too deluded…the fact remains that his innocence or guilt in the first accusation has not been proved because he paid off his accusers in a way that would keep them from talking so…that leaves a huge cloud of suspicion over his head.  The trial in 2005 came back with a verdict of “not guilty, on all counts” but still, his image was damaged beyond repair.  The truth is, none of us will ever really know one way or the other. We can look at how he handled the accusations and yes, it does raise suspicion when he pays millions of dollars to keep an accuser quiet.

On the other hand, keep in mind his abusive father who  may have been the driving force that made Michael change his appearance so drastically.  Also, remember the kind of life he was forced into at an extremely early age in a time when drugs/sex were as freely available to the musical elite as was tap water.

Here is an interesting article on the psycology of Michael Jackson and why he likely wasn’t a pedophile. If this is the case, then it does explain Michael’s sometimes bizarre lifestyle and love for children.

On the good side, he was immensely talented.  Fred Astaire is quoted saying, “Oh, God! That boy moves in a very exceptional way. That’s the greatest dancer of the century” and upon his death was further quoted saying, “I didn’t want to leave this world without knowing who my descendant was. Thank you Michael!”

He did a lot of good in the world. But, all of us is guilty of something, we all sin – it is the nature of man (or woman, as the case may be).  If Michael Jackson is remembered for his humanitarian work, or for his talent, or for his sins…only time will tell.

For myself, I will remember him as I first saw him.

I am saddened at this incredible talent has suddenly left us.

I choose to remember him as I saw him early in the 80s at the Music Awards doing those incredible moves with that hat, that glove and oh that talent!

It is quite a sad day for us all.

Well said. A balanced and yet moving and heartfelt tribute.
