6 Months to find the right puppy…

…and how long is this national health care proposal being examined? Exactly? He wants to finalize this bill within the next two weeks?

Hey Mr. President! WHAT IS THE RUSH?!?

I’d bet money that if you and the rest of Congress were required to use this new national health care plan you all would just slow the hell down and ACTUALLY READ what is in the bill! You, yourself have even admitted the following:

Obama Calls On Bloggers To Keep Health Care Pressure On Congress (AUDIO)

During the call, a blogger from Maine said he kept running into an Investors Business Daily article that claimed Section 102 of the House health legislation would outlaw private insurance.

He asked: “Is this true? Will people be able to keep their insurance and will insurers be able to write new policies even though H.R. 3200 is passed?”

President Obama replied: “You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about.”

Could that be because this bill is hundreds of pages long…and those pages continue to change?  Yet, you say:

“The time for talk is through.”

Wait..what?  Didn’t this conversation just get started?

I couldn’t agree more with the following:

Kristol: Shut Up, Obama Explained

The Democratic bills in the House and Senate are a thousand pages long. They’re still changing as committees try to mark them up, or as they mark up other versions of health insurance legislation. There’s huge uncertainty about how lots of provisions in the bills and under consideration would work–OMB Director Orzsag and HHS Secretary Sibelius couldn’t answer straightforward questions on Fox News Sunday and Meet the Press. Nothing goes into effect in any case until 2013–except the tax provisions, which would begin in 2011. Yet President Obama wants everyone to stop debating and deliberating, and act now–because he and he alone has decided “now is the time to go ahead and act.”

Congress should assert itself, stand up for the deliberative and democratic process, and defy this presumptuous presidential diktat.

The time to debate is now. There’s plenty of time to act later.

So…I ask again…if nothing is going to actually be implemented until 2013 (except some tax provisions to pay for it all and even those are still months away), WHAT THE HELL IS THE RUSH?!?  Mr. President, do you not think it wise to at least read the entire bill BEFORE it is blindly passed?  Do you not think it useful for you to understand your own friggin’ agenda before you try and sell it to the rest of the nation?  HAVE YOU ACTUALLY READ THE BILL??

Honestly…I think the idea that Pres. Obama doesn’t even understand what he’s pushing through Congress is one of the most frightening aspects of this whole thing.  Case in point:

P.S. The AP examined the statements of President Obama in last night’s press conference, and found 5 specific examples where his rhetoric does not match the facts of the situation.

  1. His claim of keeping government out of your choices in health decisions and insurance choices does not match the details of the bill under consideration.
  2. His claim that the health care bill will be deficit neutral does not match CBO analysis.
  3. His claim of not blaming Republicans was contradicted by his opening statement where he blamed Republicans.
  4. Obama’s statements regarding the arrest of Henry Gates did not match the facts of the incident.
  5. Obama’s claim of reducing the 10 year deficit to $7.1 trillion dollars is off by $2 trillion. CBO analysis says the 10 year deficit will be $9.1 trillion.

Here is some more “light reading”, if you are so inclined.
