So…Guam is in danger of capsizing…who knew?!? O_o

(I sincerely wish this was an April Fool’s joke. It’s not though.)

I certainly hope Representative Hank Johnson is NOT representative of the intelligence level of all those behind Healthcare reform.

“My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize.”

Using Rep. Johnson’s logic, we might further ponder the dangers of underpopulation.  If Guam doesn’t have enough weight on it, would it float away into the stratosphere?

Serious kudos to the Admiral for even being able to keep a straight face with his response, “Uh…we don’t anticipate that…” But it makes me wonder…perhaps he hears this kind of inane babble all the time and so, maybe it really just doesn’t faze him.

Scary thought.

He was likely trying to convey a figurative “capsizing” of the ecological systems and doing so very poorly, what was with the hand motions? ’cause to me, looked like he meant the island actually tipping over! of tiny Guam that currently has a population of 180,000 people. Adding an additional 80,000 people (at peak construction) could trigger water shortages and overload  sewage and other public utilities.
